The Work:
Gio Pistone has been invited to Livorno for the ‘Parete Aperta’ festival, an urban regeneration project.
She chose to represent Goddess Diana because of the structure of the RSA: it has a rounded shape reminding the curves of a temple.
A shrine dedicated to the woman who for centuries has represented the female containing force, she is indeed the Goddess of nature, and she includes all species and areas, marine and sylvan.
The work exists in a circular space, devoid of vertices at the top and with a mysterious and sacred aspect.
This dedication to Diana, the Goddess of differences is a visual way to talk about hospitality in a space where the elderly can find comfort through the company of her imposing presence and colors.
The Artist:
Giovanna Pistone, aka Gio Pistone, is an illustrator and street artist who lives and works in Rome. She is one of the greatest Italian and international street artists. All drawings lover, she is able to translate her own dreamy universe into lines and colors.
